May Perfections

They are all perfect.

May Beams

Hide and seek with the sun.

May Interlopers

Lusciously crimson.

May Blushes

Don't spare the ruby blushes.

May Close-Up

There's beauty in every little change.

May Flair

Bathing in the sun...

May Zest (Citrus)

Green hangs in there for all it's worth...

May Jelly Beans

Jelly beans, eat your hearts out!

May Gathering

Crowding the camera with eager colours.

May Rush

A rush of autumn red.

May Theme: More autumn colours

A belated May theme and continuing with last month's theme?? Tsk!

What can I say? I hadn't announced the May theme but I've known for ages what it was going to be and sohave taken hundreds of photos in anticipation of choosing 10 for AMIAM.

Again, I'm sticking to the Liquid Amber tree. I can't believe what an amazing range of colours and patterns this single tree gets! Truly, truly gorgeous!

Enjoy! :-)

Soft Landings

I like this one a lot. The colours are almost startling against the wet, muddy ground.

In The Rain

A Certain Earthiness

Lovely rustic colours.

Apple Blush

The delicate pastels of autumn

Starfish on Sand of Ice

Carnival of Contrasts

Marmalade

These are the colours I imagine and the mood I want, when I romanticise autumn.

Bathing in Light

Drink that sun in while you can

Two-Tone Citrus Zest

Lemon and Lime flavours anyone??

Butterfly Wings

Flutter to the ground to rest.

April Theme: Colours of Autumn

Now that we're well into autumn (more than halfway - whoopsie!), I've finally settled on a theme for this month's photos.

The Colours of Autumn

But with a catch. All the ten photos of autumn colours for this April will come from one tree - the Liquid Amber.

But, I hear you ask, will there be enough variety of colours to do autumn justice?

We shall soon see!

Liquid Amber, you're up!

Dawn Spectacular

One of the few joys of an early start - catching this spectacular dawn sight. (It was very kind of the train to be a couple of minutes late that morning).

Confession: it is photoshopped to boost the contrast, but that's all.

Pearly Greys

I've never really thought how about how ... textured storm clouds can be.

Dusky Hues

The soft pink sweeps of dusk...

Friday 20 March 2015

Smooth Palette

Applied with the gentlest of wind-brushes...

Crepuscular Rays

This is what I always vaguely imagine is meant when people talk about crepuscular rays.

Bubblegum Dusk

Except for the tiniest bit of cropping to remove most of the electric wires, this is unphotoshopped. Yes, this cloud was actually that colour!

Silver Stew

"The sky was angry that day, my friends..."

Cloud Archipelago

Islands in a blue ocean, far above.

On the way home

Before the setting sun, the clouds have words to make...

March Theme: Head in the Clouds

I had the idea for this month's theme as soon as March clicked over.

Can there really be that much variety? Ask the non-cloud people. More than I would have thought, I reply.

At any rate, it gives me an excuse to walk around with my head in the clouds :-)

Fuschias Sunny-Side Up

Not the best composition I've ever done perhaps but I like the summery-ness of it.

Plus I'm giving myself credit for getting underneath the flowers, snapping away while blinded by the sun...

Roses of Snow

The intricacies of rose petals, lit up in creams and ivories.

The Papery Petals of Hydrangeas

Of pinks and creams-with-a-hint-of-green...

Twinkle Toes

This is very likely an Aussie native, but I don't know much more about it than that. Pretty, delicate-looking flower though.

Huddles and Giggles

That's got to be some juicy gossip!

Bright Sentinels

Standing bright guard by the roadside on an overcast day.

I've got no idea what these flowers are, but would guess it's some kind of Aussie native.

No photoshop at all in this one (nope, not even cropping and definitely no filters!) Yes, my point-and-shoot skills with the phone are that good! ;-)

Frangipanis First Up

Ahhh, my tropical childhood! I love these flowers!

February Theme: The Flowers of Summer

With a couple of cool days already hinting at the autumn to come, even though we're at the start of February, what better theme than "flowers of summer".

With frangipanis, roses and fushias in full bloom and living in the now, I'm going to take a leaf out of their book and follow their bright example!

Sketchy Animals 10: The Prom!

This was a joint effort with HD*. You can see our different styles as we drew different American high school stereotypes at the prom!

I think it works and the stereotypes are totally recognisable!!
