May Theme: More autumn colours

A belated May theme and continuing with last month's theme?? Tsk!

What can I say? I hadn't announced the May theme but I've known for ages what it was going to be and sohave taken hundreds of photos in anticipation of choosing 10 for AMIAM.

Again, I'm sticking to the Liquid Amber tree. I can't believe what an amazing range of colours and patterns this single tree gets! Truly, truly gorgeous!

Enjoy! :-)

April Theme: Colours of Autumn

Now that we're well into autumn (more than halfway - whoopsie!), I've finally settled on a theme for this month's photos.

The Colours of Autumn

But with a catch. All the ten photos of autumn colours for this April will come from one tree - the Liquid Amber.

But, I hear you ask, will there be enough variety of colours to do autumn justice?

We shall soon see!

Liquid Amber, you're up!

Glimpses of Gold

It is always much easier to romanticise autumn when it's spring time, and I know we're at the start of several months of gloriously warm weather!

Streetscape II: A Wintry Arvo

One of the satisfying things about this photo is that everything about it screams 'cold, wintry/autumny afternoon'. Which is exactly what it was.

Cue cozy fire and hot chocolate...

Gone with the Wind

This leaf hanging around is all the work of a blustery wind on an icy autumn weekend.

The leaf looks effectively trapped, but a few minutes later, it was gone.

Trapped by the wind, freed by the wind, and gone with the wind.

Bush Lemons/Oranges

These bush lemons can look and even taste almost orangey.

They pop up every autumn.

"Gnarled" is a good descriptor of the look and feel of the lemons.

Doughnut in the Sky

I guess you could call this functional topiary.

Or, a doughnut by design.

Crazy, Out- of-Season Rhodo

The Rhodo tree produced flowers in spring, like it was meant to. It sailed quietly through summer and then suddenly pushed out some blooms now, in autumn!
